1- Activity 2: Infomation Processing Approaches

As teachers we need to make learners more aware of their cognitive process and teach them how to engage in active learning. Too often we are bombarded with the task of having to rush to complete curriculum for exams as opposed to allowing students to really enjoy learning based on their styles of learning. If we really want our children to learn we have to make learning a meaningful activity or else it would have very little impact on our children.

  1. I quite agree with you about this that we shoold make learning a meaningful activity. Taking time out to deviate from the "norm" of the classroom activity of chalk and talk or reading and doing an activity that is suggested by a student or is considered 'different' sure results in a quality learning expereince. For example teaching a geography class about clouds take teh children outside in an open space (field) have them lie on their backs with shades on their faces and watch the clouds and talk about what they are seeing. Then you follow up with the textbook. I am sure this would be an unforgettable class and powerful learning wuld take place.
